Spanish Police have set up a 250-metre wide security perimeter at Sant Sebastia beach, one of the most popular beaches in Barcelona, according to the Spanish Civil Guard, APA reports citing AFP.
The Sant Sebastia beach in Barcelona has been evacuated after police found an explosive device in the water, a Spanish Civil Guard spokeswoman told Reuters.
The device was reportedly found about 40 metres from the shore by a member of the Civil Guard's Special Group for Underwater Activities. As BTV reported, a group of divers have already started working at the site.
According to unconfirmed information, the device may be an explosive from the Second World War.
