A resolution co-sponsored by Georgia and 67 countries was adopted within the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, APA's local bureau reports:
The document "On the status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region of Georgia/South Ossetia" once again confirms the right of all refugees and internally displaced persons to return to the occupied territories of Georgia.
A record number of countries supported the resolution - 107, 8 voted against, and 55 abstained.
Azerbaijan was among the countries that voted in favor of the document on Georgia.
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili expressed his gratitude to the countries that supported the resolution on the X account.
It should be noted that a similar resolution on Georgia has been adopted by the UN General Assembly since 2008. Azerbaijan has been continuously voting in favor of the document since that year.
