Between 2020 and 2025, 91 people lost Georgian citizenship and acquired Azerbaijani citizenship, APA’s local bureau reports, citing Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
In 2025 alone, 10 people renounced Georgian citizenship and obtained Azerbaijani citizenship.
Last year, the total number of people who renounced Georgian citizenship amounted to 1,426. Among them, those who acquired Russian citizenship (639 people) prevailed.
The total number of people who obtained Georgian citizenship was 2,333, the vast majority of whom (1,393 people) were Russian citizens.
