780 people were arrested in France during riots following PSG

French police detained 780 people during unrest following Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) victory in the Champions League. This was announced by French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez at a briefing broadcast by the CNews television channel, APA reports.

"The situation is generally under control," the minister said. "780 arrests have been made throughout the country."

According to the minister, 480 people were detained in the Paris metropolitan area. Nunez added that the number of arrests increased by 32% compared to last year. In 2025, police detained 592 people during similar unrest.

In addition, 57 police officers were injured.

The Interior Minister also noted that 219 people across the country were injured, eight of whom are in serious condition. France Info reported, citing the Paris prosecutor's office, that one person died during the unrest. He was a motorcyclist born in 2002 who crashed into a concrete barrier on a street.
