According to APA, Cyprus has accepted jointly chairmanship in European Union from Denmark for next half-year.
Cyprus’ priorities within the chairmanship are followings: development of European economy, economic growth and launch of new job places, support to social organization, more activity of EU in international arena.
Note that, Turkey announced that, it did not recognize Cyprus’ chairmanship in EU. FM Ahmed Davudoglu noted that, Turkey would continue collaboration with EU, but would not join any event which is chaired by Cyprus.
Main reason of the current difference of opinion is the recognition of Cyprus Republic and acceptance to EU since 2004. Turkey does not recognize Cyprus.
