Moderate 4.7 magnitude earthquake hits southwestern Greece

Baku-APA. A moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the southwestern Peloponnese peninsula in Greece on Saturday evening, APA reports quoting local media.
No injuries have been reported to authorities, according to initial reports.
Seismologists at the Euro Mediterranean Seismic Institute have located the tremor’s epicenter at a depth of about 27 km, at about 28 km east of the port city of Patras, some 150 km west of Athens.
The quake has been felt across the Pelopponese to Attica prefecture. Aaccording to the authorities there have been no injuries or extensive material damages.
Earthquake-prone Greece is regularly hit by quakes, small to moderate in most cases, and has suffered from quite a few destructive ones throughout its history.
