Baku-APA. Stuttgart striker Julian Schieber joins Borussia Dortmund until 2016, the club announced on Thursday, APA reports.
After a long back and forth both teams agreed on a transfer by Schieber who refused an offer by Stuttgart to join the German double champion Dortmund until 2016.
The 23-year-old striker is a home-grown talent by Stuttgart where he played since 2008 to make six goals in 47 matches. Moreover he played from 2010 until 2011 on loan at Nuremberg to make seven goals in 29 matches.
"It is not easy to let a home-grown striker like Julian go, but he did not renew his contract at Stuttgart. Therefore, the early transfer is the best solution. We wish him all the best at Dortmund," Stuttgart sports director Fredi Bobic said.
Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc added: "We are pleased to have with Julian Schieber a young German player who fits perfectly into our team and who has a great perspective."
The "BVB" finished on top of the Bundesliga standings to seal the German championship. In addition, they also won the German Cup. Thus Dortmund is qualified for UEFA Champions League.
