Turkish Armyâ€™s Commander: â€œWe will delete PKKâ€™s name from the agendaâ€

Chief of General Staff also commented on the reports that PKK will stop its activity: â€œThe terrorists pass decision to stop its actions when they feel the lack of power and support. Therefore they try to decrease the pressures on them and marshal the forces once again. We will delete PKKâ€™s name from the agendaâ€.

General Ozel said that US was continuing rendering intelligence support to Turkey on the activity of terrorist organization. Chief of General Staff added that 4 US-based â€œPredatorâ€ drones were brought to the country for the purpose of combating terrorism and have been used since November.

Ozel opposed the declaration of Kurdish language as a second language in Turkey and teaching this language in this country. He justified his opinion with Turkish Constitution: â€œTurkish language is a common language for everyone who lives in these lands. The use of different languages in the education and governmental bodies will cause disagreement in the society. Thatâ€™s why I consider it inexpedient to use another language in the education and state lifeâ€.

General also spoke about the NATOâ€™s anti-missile system in Malatya. According to him, this process is being implemented within the framework of agreement achieved between Turkey and US. Commander of the radar center is a Turkish officer and the American servicemen are also working in the base.
