Turkish companies to play key role in Libya’s reconstruction, says NTC head

Baku-APA. Head of Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) Mustafa Abdel Jalil said in Istanbul on Saturday that Turkish companies would resume operations in their previously-made investments in Libya, APA reports quoting Turkish Anatolia news agency.

"Turkey will play a central part in the reconstruction of Libya, " Abdel Jalil said at a joint press conference with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Turkish and Libyan governments will extend strong support to Turkish companies to that end, said Jalil.

He said that Libya was grateful for Turkey’s support and for the solidarity the Turkish government and nation had shown to Libya.

Turkey set an example for Libya on economic achievements and political experience, said Jalil, adding that Turkey and Libya are also historically related with each other.

He said Libya’s newly-appointed prime minister was set to visit Turkey within the next couple of weeks to strengthen bilateral relations.
