New government of Poland wins parliamentary vote of confidence

Baku – APA. Poland’s new government, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, won a parliamentary vote of confidence.

President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski handed over the decrees on appointments to the members of the government. Following this, Donald Tusk reported to the parliament about the new program. The discussions, which started yesterday, lasted long, the final decision has been passed today. 447 out of 460 parliamentarians participated in the voting, 234 of them voted for the new government, 211 against, 2 abstained.

The new government of Poland includes members of the Civic Platform (leader – Donald Tusk), Polish People’s Party (leader - Waldemar Pawlak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy) and six non-party ministers. The Cabinet consists of 19 ministers.

Alongside with Waldemar Pawlak, Jacek Rostowski (Minister of Finance), Radoslaw Sikorski (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Marek Sawicki (Minister of Agriculture), Bogdan Zdrojewski (Minister of Culture and National Heritage), Tomasz Siemoniak (Minister of National Defense), Elżbieta Bieńkowska (Minister of Regional Development), Barbara Kudrycka (Minister of Science and Higher Education) have retained their posts.

Michal Boni has been appointed as Minister of Administration and Digitization, Jacek Cichocki as Interior Minister, Joanna Mucha Minister of Sports and Tourism, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mikolaj Budzanowski as Minister for State Property, Krystyna Szumilas as Minister of Education, Marcin Korolec Minister of Environment, Slawomir Nowak Minister of Transport, Construction, Bartosz Arłukowicz as Minister of Health.

The parliamentary elections were held in Poland on October 9.
