Baku-APA. Belarusian Foreign Ministry Thursday asked the Polish authorities to stop provocations against Belarus as Poland attempts to politicize the relations with the Polish minority in the country, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The Belarus Foreign Ministry asked the Polish authorities in a statement to stop such "provocations" as "politicizing relationships with the Polish minority in Belarus, the allocation of financial resources to interfere in internal political processes in our country."

"We cannot ignore the attempts of the Polish authorities to politicize the relations with the Polish national minority in Belarus, provision of funds for interference with the domestic policies of the country, and irresponsible statements by the Polish top officials in regard to Belarus," Belarus Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh said.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that "Poland’s refusal to take these provocative actions will eliminate many unnecessary problems in bilateral relations."

According to Savinykh, Minsk "took with satisfaction" the assurances of the Polish side to have no claims towards the sovereign territory of Belarus.

Earlier Belarus Ambassador to Poland Viktar Haisyonak was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry after Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s statements that Poland allegedly dreams of annexation of western Belarus.
