Baku-APA. A close look into the attack on a car carrying the Prince of Wales during the students’ protests, has warned the UK government over the potential threats upon them, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Theresa May, Britain’s Home Secretary, said the government learnt lessons from the December 9 students’ protests during which a mob attacked the royal car in central London.

"The most significant area of learning from the incident is the need to look beyond the available intelligence to take a broader view of threats that can reasonably be anticipated in the circumstances, and to adapt plans accordingly," May said.

Sir Paul Stephenson, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, ordered a closer look into the attack, the results of which were provided to May.

Addressing MPs, May said, "The overarching recommendations relate to operational planning and the co-ordination of personal protection and public order policing".

Emphasizing on the sensitivity of the investigations and the fact the results could not be made public, she said, "While important lessons have been learned from this shocking incident, the findings and recommendations must be seen in the context of the provision of protection for the Royal Family that has an enviable record over many years. Such protection always has to take into account the Royal Family’s desire to be seen by, and to be close to, the public."

At the beginning of January, the police released photos of people saying that they were the ones responsible for the attack on the royal car. They also asked people to identify the photos and act as a secret agent of the police force.

The police footages got from CCTVs showed several motorcycles police around the royal car while the protestors approached it.
