Turkey condemns attack on U.S. congresswoman

Baku-APA. Turkey condemned the attack on U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.
"We strongly condemn the heinous attack against Representative Gabrielle Giffords and her constituents that occurred in Arizona last weekend," said the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Giffords was shot on Saturday when an assailant opened fire during her meeting with constituents and six people were killed in the shooting.
"On this very sad occasion, we wish a speedy recovery to Representative Giffords who is struggling for her life and all others who were wounded, and convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives as well as to the people of the United States of America," the ministry said.
