Baku – APA. Turkey and the United States properly continued intelligence sharing which began in November 2007 between the two countries, a Turkish military official said on Friday, APA reports quoting turkishny.com web-page.
Gen. Fahri Kir, chief of Homeland Security Department of General Staff, told a news conference that Turkey and the United States declared terrorist organization PKK a common enemy.
Predators, unmanned aerial vehicles, were used in intelligence sharing and under control of Turkish military personnel, working 15-16 hours a day, Kir said.
Predator is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which the United States Air Force (USAF) describes as a MALE (medium-altitude, long-endurance) UAV system. It can serve in a reconnaissance and forward observation role, and can also fire two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles at identified targets. The aircraft is in use since 1995. Predator is a system, not just an aircraft. The fully operational system consists of four air vehicles (with sensors), a ground control station (GCS), and a Predator primary satellite link communication suite.
