The leaders of the political parties having political factions in the parliament addressed the discussions. Interior Minister Besir Atalay, coordinator on Kurdish on Kurdish problem on behalf of the government, made speech and gave common information about some steps they want to take. Following this, leader of Democratic Society Party (DTP) Ahmet Turk, leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli and leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Deniz Baykal made speeches. Bahceli and Baykal voiced accusations against the government. Parliamentarians from DTP protested against some points in Baykal’s speech.

The words of Omer Celik from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) about CHP and MHP caused protests of the parliamentarians representing these parties. Speaker of the Turkish parliament Mehmet Ali Sahin could hardly calm down the oppositionists.

When Celik began his speech two young persons sitting in the box of the parliament stood up and cried “We will not allow American spies to be among us!”
The police immediately expelled them from the hall. The young boy and girl were members of Turkish Youth Union. Following this, chairperson of Martyrs’ Mothers Society Pakize Akbaba took out the flag she had hidden and wanted to chant a slogan. The policemen covered her mouth with their hands and led her out of the hall. Akbaba protested against the police: “You allowed members of PKK to speak, but do not allow us. Go and expel them. I will not be silent,” she said.

Mehmet Ali Sahin announced a break. After the break Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan replied to the accusations.
