Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubayli – APA. President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Lluís Maria de Puig offered to send the proposal on depriving Russian delegation of the voting right to the Monitoring Committee and Control Committee. PACE President said it at the press conference, APA’s Europe bureau reports. He said that to freeze the mandate of the Russian delegation, it is not the position of the Council of Europe, but of a group of parliamentarians.
“As regards the discussions on the results of Russia-Georgia war, which we will hold this week, the position of PACE does not differ from that of the UN. We offered to establish an independent investigation commission. Geneva talks will clarify the responsibility of the sides. PACE passed resolutions on Russia-Georgia war. Discussions were twice held on this issue, but PACE made a decision to keep the mandate of the Russian delegation. Trilateral commission was established on my initiative. I offer to send the proposal on depriving Russian delegation of the voting right to the Monitoring Committee and Control Committee,” he said.
