Erdogan: Turkey describes Nabucco and South Stream as parallel rather than alternatives to each other

Baku. Viktoria Dementieva – APA. Turkey describes Nabucco and South Stream as parallel rather than alternatives to each other, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, APA reports quoting Euronews.
On August 6, Turkey agreed to participate in Russia’s South Stream project. The project costs €10 billion, its carrying capacity is 63 billion cubic meters per year.
Turkey also supports Nabucco project. Intergovernmental agreement on the construction of Nabucco gas pipeline was signed in Ankara on July 13. Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria joined the agreement. The project costs €7.9 billion, its carrying capacity is 26-32 billion cubic meters per year.
