Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin pays working visit to Turkey

Deputy governor of Ankara Fevzi GUnes, representatives of Turkish Foreign Ministry and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Sechin welcomed Russian Prime Minister. Putin immediately went to hold meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The visit schedule also includes meeting with Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul. The discussions will cover construction of Blue Stream-2 gas pipeline, its extension to Israel, Samsun-Ceyhan pipeline, construction of part of the South Stream pipeline through Turkish waters, construction of gas holder by Russian company around Tuz lake, mitigation of examination of lorries owned by Turkish companies in Russia’s customs. Turkish and Russian Prime Ministers will sign 9 documents.
Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi will also arrive in Ankara today and attend meetings with Putin. Putin, Erdogan and Berlusconi will sign a document on South Stream project.
Greenpeace activists, who protest against the cooperation between Turkey and Russia on nuclear power, picketed against Vladimir Putin’s visit.
