Davutoglu talks with Clinton on incidents in Xinjiang

Baku – APA. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu talked with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as part of his telephone diplomacy to discuss the recent incidents that took place in Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region of China. APA reports quoting Anatolian News Agency that Davutoglu conveyed Turkey’s sensitivity to Clinton over the recent incidents in Xinjiang.
Davutoglu informed Clinton on the phone that the international community must display more interests in the happenings there.
“A human tragedy is taking place in Xinjiang. It is important to prevent ethnic clashes following the incidents in Xinjiang”, Davutoglu told Clinton.
Davutoglu and Clinton also discussed the situation in the Caucasus following U.S. President Barack Obama’s recent visit to Moscow.
Davutoglu and Clinton exchanged views on the Nabucco project for which a signature ceremony will take place in Ankara on July 13.
Ahmet Davutoglu held phone conversations with his counterparts from France, Britain, Sweden and Iran on Wednesday about the incidents in Xinjiang.
