Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev has received new president and CEO of Norwegian Statoil ASA Eldar Sætre.
According to Ministry, Aliyev mentioned Statoil’s activity in ACG, Shahdeniz, Absheron gas fields, BTC and South Caucasus Pipeline as a partner. He noted it’s important to study experience of Statoil as an important exporter of crude oil to the world, gas to Europe.
Aliyev noted that the Southern Gas Corridor will improve European gas supply. According to him, the Southern Gas Corridor is also planned to transport Iranian, Iraqi and Israeli gas.
Sætre spoke about situation in the international gas markets and noted that energy security and reduction of gas dependence are priority issues for Europe.
