Azerbaijan and Iran sign MoU in oil and gas sphere

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. Delegation of State Oil Company visited Iran Research Institute of Petroleum Industry.

SOCAR told APA-Economics that the vice-president of Iran Research Institute of Petroleum Industry Amir Abbas Hosseini gave information to the head of SOCAR’s Oil & Gas Research and Design Institute Fakhraddin Ismayilov, Deputy Directors Bagir Suleymanov, Ahmad Salmanov and Chief of SOCAR’s Nanotechnologies Department Valeh Shamilov abot the projects implemented in the institute and scientific researches, including works carried out related to nanotechnologies.

The delegation also gave information the opposite side about the scientific works and technologies in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector. They discussed extension of cooperation and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the institutes. The memorandum envisages joint cooperation on exploration and exploitation of oil and gas fields, assessment of reserves, setting of geological-hydrodynamic models, solution of ecological issues, research, application of nanotechnologies and other directions.

The meeting was attended by head of SOCAR’s Iran-based office Ogtay Sadigzadeh and responsible employee Murtuza Bagheri.
