Azerbaijanâ€™s total potential on alternative and renewable energy sources makes 12,200 MVatt

Azerbaijan’s total potential on alternative and renewable energy sources makes 12,200 MVatt, said the Deputy Head of Investments and Strategic Development Department at the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources Samir Rahimov at the second day of the 13th conference on investments and energy regulation of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA).

According to him, Azerbaijan’s alternative and renewable energy potential comes from solar energy: “The potential from this source makes 5,000 MVatt. At the same time, 4,500 MVatt of energy comes from wind energy, 1,500 MVatt from biomass energy, 800 MVatt from geothermal energy and 300 MVatt from small water power stations”.
