Azerbaijan to produce naphtha, diesel, gasoline and jet fuel in its Turkey-based plant

According to him, the construction works are being carried out by the consortium which included Spanish, Italian, Japan and South Korean companies.

Aksoy said that this area will be divided into a few spheres: “Drilling works will be carried out in 9.5 mln m² of plant and its 80% has been carried out. However, 42% of total works have been carried out. Preparation will be completed at the end of 2014”.

Site Project Manager noted that 1,200 tonnes-columns will be brought here and special preparations are underway. Petkim has set 73,000 tonnes-three containers to transport naphtha to be produced in Start refinery plant. After completion of works, these containers will be unused. So far, naphtha has been produced in Turkey by Turas company.

Along with 1.7 mln tonnes of naphtha, 6 mln tonnes of diesel fuel will be produced in Star plant per year: “If necessary, the plant will also produce gasoline. At the same time, jet fuel also is expected to be produced here”.
