"The United States has approved a tax on emissions from the oil and gas industry," John Podesta, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for International Climate Policy, said during his speech at COP29 Summit on Methane and Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases, APA reports.
"The United States remains committed to achieving net-zero emissions of all greenhouse gases by 2050, and we hope that other countries will follow our leadership by setting their own targets for all greenhouse gases over the past four years. The United States has made significant progress in reducing methane emissions and non-gas greenhouse gases in our territory," Podesta added.
