Taner Yildiz: â€œA principal agreement on Azerbaijani gas transportation reachedâ€

â€œAn agreement was reached in all spheres. No need to divulge all details. Both sides made steps.
The main subject of the discussions was a price of â€œShahdeniz-1â€, the price, volume, and transportation-related issues of â€œShahdeniz-2â€. We have reached a principal agreement on all 3 main issuesâ€, - said Taner Yildiz.

According to Turkish minister, as the discussions go on all details of the agreement canâ€™t be divulged.
â€œAccording to the deal, the price of the gas, which weâ€™ve been buying since May, 2009 for $120, will be in conformity with the reached agreement. A difference, existing in the price of the gas since April, 2008, will be reimbursedâ€, - he noted.

The Minister touched upon the present state of Nabucco gas pipeline as well. â€œWith regard to Nabucco we have two aims; the first aim is to be partner, and the second one is to be a part of the solution related to the energy security of the European Union. We say that our Azerbaijani brothers are able to transport the gas via Turkey and give it to â€œNabuccoâ€. At the same time, they can do it to other projects. We have fulfilled our commitment. Now, the flow of the gas inside the Nabucco gas pipeline depends on the consortium, where both Azerbaijan and Turkey are represented.â€
