Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based pipe maker Azerboru is going to receive the standards of American Petroleum Institute (API, said Azim Azimov, Chairman of the company.

According to him, new technologies are being delivered to the plant to make production line in compliance with API standards.

“I hope that we will receive an API certificate this year. Getting this certificate will allow us to supply products not only in the post-Soviet countries, but also in other countries, including the United States,” he added.

According to him, the United States and European countries are interested in Azerboru’s products and the first batch of goods will be shipped to Austria, Germany and Turkey in June or July.

“Depending on the negotiations, we are capable of supplying 7 000 to 8 000 tons of products to the European market per annum,” he noted.

Due to the global financial crisis, Azerboru has shut down and will resume production in summer after the large volume of finished goods backlogs is shipped.

Azerboru started making D- 187, 194 and 219 mm pipes last year and plans to produce D-245 mm pipes in the future. The company produced 8 000 tons of pipes in 2008.
