Iran launches gas exports to Armenia

Under a 20-year contract signed in 2004, the volume of exports could be increased to 4 million cubic metres a day in 2011, and may be increased to 6.3 million cubic metres in future.
Armenia will use the gas to generate electricity, some of which will be delivered back to Iran in exchange for the gas imports.
