Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Turkey and Azerbaijan are currently holding discussion on the price and volume of Azeri gas exports to Turkey, said Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız.

“Negotiations on the export of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey are nearing completion. We will join a summit in Prague after completing negotiations,” he added.

According to him, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Turkey’s BOTAS are negotiating in Baku to agree on the price and volume of Azeri gas exports to Turkey.

The Minister added that the representatives of Turkish corporations BOTASH are in Baku in connection with negotiations on the issue of price increases on Azeri gas.

”Nabucco Gas Pipeline Project will be discussed in Prague. We want to go to the summit along with SOCAR. I am confident that we will achieve positive developments,” he added.

Azerbaijan is charges Turkey $120 per 1 000 cubic meters.

The stalemate over the transit deal is partly due to the fact that Turkey has been holding out on a demand for the right to offtake some 15% of transit gas flowing from Phase 2 of Shah Deniz, putting the country at odds with other pipeline consortium members.
