Alexander Khetaguri: Azerbaijan will get direct access to Turkish electricity market in 2 years

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Restoration of a 500 KV power transmission line from Azerbaijan to Georgia is under way, said Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri.

According to him, construction of the power line would be carried out towards Turkey, and from 2011 Azerbaijan will get direct access to the Turkish electricity market.

“Georgia undertook to construction 350 km power transmission line between the Azeri-Georgian border and the Georgian-Turkish border. Georgian companies will spend 120 million euros on this project. The total cost of the project in Georgia is 220 million euros,” he added.
