Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. State Oil Company of Azerbaijan may join Georgia’s tender for the design of underground gas storage facilities, said Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri.
“SOCAR takes interest and will join this tender. We would also be happy if SOCAR joins the next tender for the construction of underground gas storage facilities after design work,†he added.
In his words, the capacity will be 450 million cubic meters at the first phase and will be enhanced gradually to 1.5 billion cubic meters and 5 billion cubic meters.
â€This capacity is too large for Georgia. We will consider the storage of SOCAR’s gas with the possibility of future gas supplies to Europe,†he added.
