Azerbaijan’s Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev is due to lead a delegation to Sofia to attend the event, said the ministry.

The world energy forum "Natural for Europe: Security and Partnership," which is organized by the Bulgarian government on the initiative of President Georgi Parvanov, is scheduled to take place at Sofia’s National Palace of Culture.

Invitations to the Sofia Summit were extended to 28 countries from South East Europe, the Black Sea region and the Caspian region, Central Asia, European Union Member States that are directly involved in the development of the Southern Gas Corridor, the United States, Russia, the EU presidency, and the European Commission, according to news on the official website of the event.

The goal of the summit will be to engage EU’s major energy partners in a dialogue on the EU energy security approach.
