Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Synchronization of Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian power grids remains unrealized because Russia did nothing in this project, said Etibar Pirverdiyev, President of AzerEnerji national utility.

According to him, Azerbaijani side carries out some work and launched Khachmaz substation for this project.

“Besides, construction of a 350km high-voltage transmission line between Azerbaijan and Iran is on track of completion. No work has commenced in Russia,” he added.

The proposed synchronization of Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian power grids may be delayed until 2012. The Russian side plans to perform the feasibility study by late 2010.
