Istanbul. Mayis Alizadeh – APA. Marmara Foundation of Turkey will hold Eurasian Economic Summit on May 6-8. President of the foundation Akan Suver told APA’s Istanbul bureau that discussions would be mainly held on Nabucco project.

President of Croatia Mesic, president of Kosovo Sedia and Turkish president Abdullah Gul will also attend the summit. Suver said several senior officials of Azerbaijan had also been invited to the event.

Akan Suver also clarified the reasons to hold discussions on Nabucco project.
“Both Russia and the European Union are concerned over this project, because the implementation of this project means improvement of Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan relations. For example, Angela Merkel said Germany had reduced €250 million assumed for Nabucco by €50 million. €50 million is little for a project worth €8 billion. Azerbaijan assumed Georgia’s expenses for construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Gars railway. Energy ministers of the related countries, director generals of Nabucco in the related countries will attend the meeting. We attach great importance to Nabucco, I think it is the most significant project of the past 20 years after Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan,” he said.

Suver said Azerbaijani singer Azerin would give concert for the participants of the summit.
