President Aliyev: Azerbaijani youth gained brilliant military victory over Armenian occupants in April

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani youth gained a brilliant military victory over the Armenian occupants in April this year, said the country’s President Ilham Aliyev.

President Aliyev made the remarks at the opening ceremony of a new building of school No. 311 in Sabunchu district, Baku on Sept. 15.

“We also had martyrs. However, our young people managed to raise the Azerbaijani flag in parts of Aghdere, Fuzuli and Jabrayil districts,” he said, adding that this most brilliant victory was gained thanks to young Azerbaijani soldiers and officers as well as all of the Azerbaijani people.

“Our young people have also raised the Azerbaijani flag at the Rio Olympics,” the president mentioned.

Azerbaijan ranked 14th in the medal table of the Rio Olympics, President Aliyev stressed.

“This is a historic victory. Azerbaijan ranked first among Muslim countries in Rio. And this has been made by our young people,” he added.
