Present at the event were Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kemaleddin Heydarov, MP Ali Huseynli and other ministry officials.
Delivering an opening speech at the event, Minister Kemaleddin Heydarov said that every Azerbaijani today is indebted to national leader Heydar Aliyev for the existence of independent, prosperous and mighty Azerbaijan.
He noted that both during his initial period of ruling over Azerbaijan and after returning to political power in 1993 upon the people’s insistence, the national leader put an end to the public-political chaos and the economic crisis in the country, preventing a possible civil confrontation and the state from dying down.
The minister said that as a result of the wise policy and titanic work of great son of Azerbaijani people, world-famous politician Heydar Aliyev, the crisis that had penetrated into all areas of life were eliminated, national unity and political stability were ensured, and democratic institutions were established.
Heydarov stressed that the Azerbaijani government strengthened thanks to the hard work and tireless activity of the national leader, who had played an indispensable role in the preservation of Azerbaijan's independence.
He went on to add that the wise policy pursued by the national leader and large-scale reforms he carried out led to the creation of powerful armed forces capable of protecting Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, improvement of well-being of the population and development of the country’s economy.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan has become a full-pledged member of the international community thanks to effective diplomatic activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The minister mentioned that Ilham Aliyev, as a worthy and uncontested successor of Heydar Aliyev’s course, made great efforts for the development of the republic, the foundations of which were laid by the national leader. He has turned the country into a regional leader and formed a state with an international reputation.
Heydarov noted that like the whole Azerbaijani people, every employee of the ministry believes that the day of liberation of the country’s occupied lands under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is not so far.
In his speech, MP Ali Huseynli thoroughly spoke about the invaluable merits of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of a modern and powerful Azerbaijani state, in the democratic and legal state-building.
