European Parliament made various efforts to restore relations with Azerbaijan, says parl speaker

Baku. Munariz Aslanov – APA. Over the past year, the European Parliament has made various efforts to restore bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, said Ogtay Asadov, Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament.

He made the remarks addressing the first meeting of the parliament’s fall session on Friday.

A 15-member delegation from the European Parliament has recently visited Baku and had meetings with Azerbaijan’s president, recalled the speaker.

Asadov stressed that Azerbaijan cut off its relations with the European Parliament as the latter passed a biased resolution in 2015.

“However, the last visit of the European Parliament delegation to Baku clarified the relations. Therefore, we will discuss the document on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Parliament at today’s meeting,” said the speaker.
