Constitutional referendum voting begins at Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Istanbul

Istanbul. Mayis Alizade – APA. The voting in referendum on making amendments to Azerbaijan’s Constitution kicked off at Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Istanbul at 08:00 am, Sept.26.

 

Those having residence permit in the service area of the Consulate General, registered at the Consulate General and being on a business trip to Turkey are voting.  

 

The number of registered voters at the consulate general is 965 people. 

 

“This referendum has arisen from the necessity to improve Azerbaijan’s political system in parallel with economy,” he said. “I’ve held meetings with the citizens in the big cities within the service area of the Consulate General and urged them to be active in the voting process. We have taken all measures in this regard,” he said.

 

The voting process will end at 7:00 pm local time. A report to be developed after the counting of votes will be submitted to relevant bodies.
