Azerbaijani MP: Each state may include priority provisions in constitution

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Each state may include in the constitution the provisions that are priorities to the interests of the people and society, Ali Huseynli, MP, chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament’s Committee on legal policy and stat building, told APA on Tuesday.

According to him, the constitution is a living document and must be development together with society.

The MP noted that the submission by Azerbaijan’s president of the draft Referendum Act “On amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan” is the demand of the time, and some of its provisions were uttered during the discussion of the previous referendum acts.

The constitution of each country is unique and closely connected with the country’s history, development and traditions expect certain basic principles, said Huseynli.

The MP expressed confident that the people and society of will unequivocally back the targets set out by the Referendum Act like strong presidential institution that will provide stable and sustainable development, security of Azerbaijan, as well as effective protection of human rights.
