Baku – APA. The results of the referendum on making amendments to Azerbaijan’s Constitution will be announced before October 21, Arifa Mukhtarova, secretary of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), said during a meeting on Wednesday.
The referendum on amendments to Azerbaijan’s Constitution was scheduled for September 26.
At today’s meeting the CEC approved the time schedule for preparations and holding the referendum on constitutional reforms, Mukhtarova said, noting that the publication of notifications of the referendum will be completed on August 17.
The organizations willing to conduct exit-poll should submit documents by September 6, according to the CEC secretary.
She added that information about the voter turnout will be provided five times on the election day.
A 9-member expert group under the CEC and a working group of experts from the Justice Ministry, Interior Ministry and Finance ministry were set up to deal with the complaints regarding the actions that violate the electoral rights during the referendum.
CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov, in turn, underlined the importance of election-related awareness activities.
