Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. The participants of the 3rd International Scientific Conference “The Genocide of Turkic-Muslim population of Azerbaijan and Eastern Anatolia (1914-1920)” have appealed to the world scientific community.
The 3rd International Conference “The Genocide of Turkic-Muslim population of Azerbaijan and Eastern Anatolia (1914-1920)” has become a significant event in the scientific life not only of Azerbaijan, but also other countries, related by a common destiny, according to the appeal.
“Based on the archival documents in Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and other countries, the scientists-historians have proven the genocide in the 1914-1920 years created by Armenian nationalists against the Turkic-Muslim population in Northern Azerbaijan - in Baku, Shamakhy, Guba, Garabagh, Zangazur, Iravan, Nakhchivan as well as in South Azerbaijan - in Urmia, Salmas, Khoy, Garadagh, Tabriz, in Eastern Anatolia, Turkestan, the North Caucasus and the Volga region. Tens of thousands of representatives of the Turkic-Muslim population and other nationalities, including innocent children, women and the elderly men were killed only because of their ethnicity,” the document said.
The document recalled that more than one million Azerbaijani dwellers were driven out by Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands, namely from Daghlig Garabagh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and surrounding seven regions and thus, have become refugees and IDPs.
“To our deepest regret, influential political circles of the international community remain indifferent to demands of the Armenian aggression, ignoring even the decisions and resolutions adopted by the authoritative international organizations. We hope that our appeals will not remain without attention of the world and the scientific community,” the appeal said.
