“Tomorrow our people will honor the National Salvation Day," said Speaker of the Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova at meeting of Milli Majlis dedicated to 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, APA reports.
Sahiba Gafarova said that the abolition of the death penalty for the first time in the East was realized on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev: "Heydar Aliyev's political course is being successfully continued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Heydar Aliyev's greatest wish was honorably fulfilled in 2020 under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and our lands were liberated from occupation."
Talking about the works done to perpetuate the memory of Heydar Aliyev in the Milli Majlis, the speaker stressed that the next book consisting of 3 volumes dedicated to the National Leader has been published recently days.
Later, a documentary film dedicated to Heydar Aliyev was shown.
