Eco-activists and representatives of NGOs are continuing the action on the Khankendi - Lachin road in the city of Shusha in protest against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits, especially the "Gizilbulag" gold and "Demirli" copper-molybdenum deposits, in the areas under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers, APA's correspondent assigned to Shusha reports.
Protestors continue their action on the first day of the New Year and chant various slogans.
Unlike the previous few days, the transit of the Russian Peacekeepers' Contingent from Khankendi to Lachin or from Lachin to Khankendi was not observed on the first day of the New Year.
Recalled that since December 12, Azerbaijani eco-activists and public representatives have been holding a protest near the post of peacekeepers.
The protesters' main demands are the arrival of RPC commander Andrey Volkov, the establishment of necessary conditions for monitoring by Azerbaijani experts, and an end to environmental terrorism on Azerbaijani territory.
