Fact-finding missions to be implemented in Zabukh and Sus villages, says Hikmet Hajiyev

"Ambassadors addressed questions at the international conference held in Shusha regarding the issue of asking for compensation from Azerbaijan in international courts by Armenia after the destruction of this scale in the liberated territories. Look at the example of hypocrisy, that after causing so much destruction, carrying out so much brutality and vandalism against Azerbaijan, Armenia makes claims against Azerbaijan at the International Court of Justice on the basis of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination," said Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev at the international conference in Shusha, APA reports.

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan noted that during the occupation Armenia implemented the policy of illegal settlement in Zabukh and Sus: "It is true that large-scale settlement was not implemented in the form they wished for. Because when we look at these areas, we see what conditions they lived in even within the administrative boundaries of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. It could not be attractive for any Armenian from abroad to live here. But they implemented certain artificial programs. In particular, we observed it in Lachin - in the villages of Zabukh and Sus. In general, during the period of occupation, the occupying country's changing the ethnic-religious composition of that territory, destroying cultural monuments, and changing the architectural style are described as military and war crimes. These steps taken by Armenia, especially the resettlement of people from the Middle East, who have no connection with the region, to the villages of Zabukh and Sus are among such cases. In this regard, the head of state issued relevant instructions. After security measures and mine clearance are carried out, appropriate fact-finding missions and documentation missions will be carried out. After the necessary legal expertise and evaluation, the next steps will be considered and reviewed."
