Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the country, Ahmed Metani, on September 3, the Press Service of the Milli Majlis told APA.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, wishing him success in his diplomatic mission.
Ambassador Ahmed Metani expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support to the Palestinian people, as well as efforts in resolving the conflict. He particularly recalled his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and shared his positive impressions.
Sahiba Gafarova also met with Omar Barakat Al Nahar, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the country.
During the meeting, the Speaker shared her views on the progress of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. She underlined the importance of cooperation between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Jordan within international organizations, wishing Ambassador Al Nahar success in his future endeavors.
Ambassador Omar Barakat Al Nahar expressed his satisfaction with his mission in Azerbaijan. He highlighted the efforts undertaken during his diplomatic service to further strengthen bilateral relations, and reaffirmed his commitment to spare no effort for their development.
