Azerbaijan developed and approved new draft law that regulates the activities of political parties by studying international expertise, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
The Law "On political parties" serves to effectively establish the activities of political parties, foster a healthier political environment and expand mutually beneficial dialogue between political forces
Under the new Law, a party must have at least 5,000 members and they must submit a repository of their members to the Ministry of Justice.
Since the Law came into force, 31 parties have announced their dissolution on their own initiative.
At the same time, the Ministry of Justice is ready to hold meetings with parties to provide the necessary assistance to address defects.
