Influential Azeri religious figure Hojjat-ul-Islam Abdulaziz Azim Gadimi imprisoned for one year

Baku. Ramil Mammadli –APA. One of the activists for rights of Iranian Azerbaijanis Hojjat-ul-Islam Abdulaziz Azim Gadimi was arrested on May 2, Iranian sources told APA. The Azerbaijani cleric was called to the Gum Revolutionary Court and was arrested in the court room. Hojjat-ul-Islam was accused in seeds of national, racial and social enmity and was convicted for one year. Abdulaziz Azim Gadimi is detained in Gum jail now and not allowed to meet anyone. Gadimi participated in the meetings on the Sattarkhan’s and Bagirkhan’s graves and in the march to Babak fortress wearing in clerical dress, which is considered against the existing rules for clerics. Two years ago Gadimi was convicted conventionally for a year and forfeited a right to wear in clerical dress for 10 years.
