Azay Guliyev: â€œ1.5 million manats of budget resources have been allocated for financing of projects of NGOsâ€

Ramil Mammadli â€“APA. â€œ1.5 million manats of budget resources have been allocated for financing of projects of the non-governmental organizationsâ€, Azay Guliyev, Chairman of the Council of Government Support to NGOs, told APA. He said the budget of the Council had not been defined yet. â€œThe resources have not been divided yet between organizational and technical issues and the projectsâ€. He said it needed in the decision of the Ministry of Finance. â€œThe Ministry has not made a decision yet, but we hope that the decision will be made soon. Spending of financial resources should be regulated by special rules and it needs to define the terms of contest and to collect and to research the projects as well. President Ilham Aliyev approved the Rules on the Council of Government support to NGOs on December 13, 2007 and elections of NGOs to the Council took place on March 11-18, 2008. According to the results of the elections, the President approved the Council and its chairman on April 21. The Council unites 8 NGOs and three government representatives. Members of the Council will be elected for 4 years and chairman â€“ for 2 years.
