Azerbaijani President and King of Jordan adopt joint declaration

It was noted that bilateral relations were developing successfully in various spheres and there were good opportunities for further extension of the relations. The heads of states noted the importance of mutual visits at the highest level and said the current visit contributed to the expansion of the relations. The heads of states exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional and international issues.
Following the meeting, the heads of states adopted a joint declaration. The declaration says that in connection with the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan the sides are satisfied with the rapid development and extension of the relations between the two countries. The sides underline the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan and the interests of the countries, which coincide in connection with the international issues. The heads of states expressed their satisfaction with various economic and commercial events, as well as current trade exhibition of Jordan in Baku, recent mutual visits of the business delegations and rapid development of the relations between the private sectors of the two countries. The declaration hails the agreements on elimination of double taxation and promotion and protection of investments. The heads of states agreed on continuing cooperation in oil and gas exploration, transportation, agriculture and education. The sides also said they would continue cooperation within the framework of UN and its structures and underlined that importance of strengthening the role of the UN in the solution of international conflicts. According to the declaration, the sides noted the increasing threat of aggressive separatism, expressed their concern over terrorism, weapon and human trafficking of the separatist regimes, production and distribution of drugs, other criminal activities posing threat to the international security and stability and called on the international community to take urgent measures against such activities. The declaration once more confirms that using force and threatening to use force in order to change the internationally recognized borders is inadmissible.
