Azerbaijani communists celebrate May Day in front of â€œBaku Workerâ€ monument <font color=red>- PHOTOSESSION</font>

They failed to start a march from the Mashadi Azizbayovâ€™s monument because police detained members of New Generation of Azerbaijani Communists Party and â€œChe Guevara Fan Clubâ€. Detainees have been released after the questioning. Activists of Azerbaijan Communist Party (Marksist-Leninist platform), New Generation of Azerbaijani Communists Party, Azerbaijani Bolshevik Organization and other leftist organizations began a picket in front of â€œBaku Workerâ€ monument on Nobel Avenue under the sounds of former USSR anthem. The members of Communist Party Telman Nurullayev and writer Hamid Herischi and Chairman of â€œChe Guevara Fan Clubâ€ Samir Vazirov delivered speeches at the picket. They have evaluated non-celebrating of worker day in Azerbaijan as a violation of rights of this class. At the end picketers adopted resolution which demands returning of Workerâ€™s name to Nobel Avenue and resuming of May 1- the Day of International Solidarity of Workers and other issues. 30 minutes unauthorized meeting ended without incident.
