Polls show Azerbaijanis are against the concessions in Nagorno Karabakh issue

Ulviyya Aliyeva-APA. â€œMost of Azerbaijanis consider that current situation of â€œneither peace nor warâ€ around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will not continueâ€, Political Scientist Rasim Musabeyov announcing the results of polls conducted by â€œPulse â€“ Râ€ service in January-February with support of German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, APA reports. He said most of 1000 respondents in 15 regions and 12 cities of Azerbaijan were against the concessions in the solution of the conflict. 20-25 per cent of respondents agree with the autonomous status of Nagorno Karabakh positively rejecting the independence. Musabeyov said the respondents thought that general situation in Azerbaijan was stable and improving of economic circumstances of population continued and mass protest actions were not expected in the country. â€œAzerbaijanis concern on three main problems: Nagorno Karabakh conflict, unemployment and poverty. 59.2 per cent of respondents donâ€™t see opponent for Ilham Aliyev in the upcoming presidential elections, 6.7 per cent said they saw Mehriban Aliyeva as a pretender and 6 per cent saw Isa Gambar. Turkey won majority of votes as a friendly country for Azerbaijanâ€.
